Registered Occupational Therapist
Michelle completed her Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy in 2001 at the University of Alberta. Since that time, she has practiced in a wide range of acute care and community programs including mental health and substance abuse services, housing and rehabilitation services, psychiatric day hospital program, and seniors’ services. She has extensive experience and training in a variety of rehabilitation approaches including psychosocial rehabilitation, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, exposure therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy strategies, and the Progressive Goal Attainment Program (PGAP).
Presently, Michelle is applying her clinical skills to practice in the field of work/occupational rehabilitation. Her current role focuses on delivery of both home and worksite based occupational therapy services. This includes development of graduated return to work programs, on-site job coaching and ergonomic assessments, seating and mobility prescriptions, home safety/accessibility assessments, community engagement and exposure therapy, and performance of job demands analyses as well as functional/work capacity evaluations. Michelle regularly attends training and educational opportunities. She has completed the Matheson Functional Capacity Evaluation Certification Program.
